Providing safe, respectful transportation for wheelchair passengers requires more than just online coursework. Our CTAA PASS Wheelchair Securement Training is a half-day, in-person course designed to add the required hands-on wheelchair securement and lift operation component to the PASS Basic online training.

This course is led by a certified CTAA PASS Trainer and focuses on real-world application, allowing participants to practice proper techniques in a supervised setting while reinforcing safety, comfort, and dignity for passengers during transport.

How This Course Fits With PASS Basic Training

The PASS Basic course is a required prerequisite for this training. Participants must complete the PASS Basic online course prior to attending the in-person session.

This in-person course is offered in addition to the PASS Basic online training and is designed to build on the foundational knowledge covered online. While the online course focuses on concepts and standards, this session provides hands-on instruction and practical experience with wheelchair securement systems and lift operation.

For full details about the PASS Basic online course, certification requirements, and course content, please visit the Community Transportation Association of America website at ctaa.org.

What the 4-Hour Training Covers

This half-day (4-hour) course provides comprehensive, hands-on instruction aligned with CTAA standards. Participants receive practical training in proper wheelchair securement techniques and lift operation procedures commonly used in non-emergency medical transportation.

The course is interactive and designed for transportation professionals who want to confidently apply best practices in real-world scenarios.
